Using the Rhetorical Triangle in Your Argumentation
Argumentation is an important part of academic writing. Essay writer will be tasked with various persuasive and argumentative essays in the course of your education. The objective of such tasks is to help you develop your rhetorical skills and help you improve your reasoning and logic. Many people are naturally attuned to logical thinking while others might be more attuned to creative thinking and to a holistic approach. A good argument will include all these forms of thinking.
The Rhetorical Triangle is one of the oldest and probably the most used methods for persuasive use.
The Rhetorical Triangle
The triangle consists of three parts with each part taking a vital role in the whole setup. The three parts of the triangle are:
Ethos refers to establishing your authority over the subject and gaining the confidence of your reader for your command over the subject area under discussion.
Pathos refers to appealing to the emotional aspect of the audience, tapping into their values and beliefs.
Logos refers to the strength of your reasoning, and how logically you communicate your argument to your reader.
The strength of each part and the three parts as a whole will determine the effectiveness of your argumentation. Your instructor will be looking for these three qualities when accessing the argumentative/ persuasive essay written by essay writing service.
To gain the trust of your audience it is important that you should put light on the problem and explain to the readers why it needs to be addressed and why you want to address it. This allows them to see your motives and trust you.
Once you have gained the trust, you should show your credibility to speak on the topic by either presenting your credentials if you are an expert on the field or supporting your claims, points, and arguments with the work of experts in the field.
Many students thus, refer to scholarly papers and articles and use the examples and observations stated by expert authors to support their own claims and arguments.
Pathos appeals to the reader’s emotions. An expert writer won’t make the reader notice this part and will style the argument or the text in accordance with the reader’s expectations. If the pathos seems explicit in your writing then the audience might feel manipulated and would lose the ethos build through the essay.
Students are often daunted by argumentative essays and tasks, such that they ask others:‘help write my essay’. Many argumentative essays require the students to critically analyze and evaluate the subject rather than reworking what already has been stated. Logical reasoning alone won’t get you far in argumentation, and you will have to develop or follow creative techniques that will persuade the audience of your arguments.
You can use stories, examples, and scenarios to help them invest in the argument emotionally, always keeping in mind what you expect the readers to take from the argument.
The easiest way to evoke emotions is by providing them with evidence and examples that portray the extremes of the situation. Following which you can provide your ideas as a way to avoid such outcomes.
The logos hold your argument together; without good logic and reasoning provided to online essay writer, you won’t be able to persuade the audience— no matter how good you have developed the Ethos and Logos.

- Examining and analyzing the evidence and how it helps support your claim/point.
- Tackling any counters to the arguments that might come to the reader’s mind, such that the argument becomes foolproof.
